Blackberry Opportunity in Indonesia

Blackberry be a smartphone of choice for the middle classes of Indonesia. But there is still a problem with him. What is it? BlackBerry factory doesn't exist in Indonesia. Though this mobile phone sales in the country that may arguably rise to the chagrin many Canadian producers chose country as a production base. Moreover, reportedly to be built in neighboring Malaysia.

To response it, the party formerly known as the BlackBerry Research in Motion has its own reasons. Although not build factories in Indonesia, BlackBerry claims to have done a variety of investment in Indonesia.

"The reason for making factory in a certain place because of considerations of business effectiveness. Example relevant partners to support the production. So maybe the factory stood in every country," said Yolanda Nainggolan, PR Manager BlackBerry Indonesia to ITGazine.

Yolanda stated investment BlackBerry in Indonesia have not been in the form of the establishment of the factory, but in other activities. For example, assisting the development of the mobile application industry.

"We built the BlackBerry Innovation Center in ITB for example, with an investment of USD 5 million. Students there can develop applications and then market it at BlackBerry World app store," said Yolanda.

Yolanda also mentioned the establishment of a service center authorized BlackBerry Expert Center which opened a number of jobs. According to him, it is also a form of investment from the BlackBerry.

"Indeed, the establishment of the factory is considered open up more job opportunities. However a service such as this also requires quite a lot of people," he said.

BlackBerry market share in Indonesia itself is very large. According to Yolanda until the end of 2012, the market share of the BlackBerry is still above 50% in the smartphone segment citing GfK data.

We hope Blackberry can be more equitable in view of Indonesia as a potential market that needs more attention.
