Indonesia may be called a developing country, but the development of the smart phones in the country has increased each year. Within four years, the number of users of smart devices continues to rise.
According Djatmiko Ward, Director Marcomm Era Jaya, in the year 2008 the number of smartphone users in Indonesia is only 2%. Then in 2009 rose to 5%, reaching a dozen percent in 2010, exactly 13%.
While in 2011 the number of smartphone users 17%, and in 2012 the number up to 28% today.

Djatmiko said Indonesia is a sexy market for global mobile phone vendors. Citing data from Frost Sullivan, the number of feature phone penetration is still high, but the value (business) contributed only 40%.
The rest of course is taken over by smartphones. This does not include, hobby people of Indonesia that is not inferior to other countries in terms menggonta-changing device.
"According to Frost & Sullivan survey, for a feature phone, the Indonesian change between 7 to 9 months. While smartphone, every 8 to 14 months to replace it. This is of course our country is considered sexy by the vendor," said Djatmiko.
Smartphone in Indonesia can not be separated from the fever that hit the internet world. Moreover, the smartphone is considered easier and more mobile in the access it anywhere.
"In our country, the smartphone is hype. All there since there is internet. Everything outside cheap now at home, the first static now moving," he said.
