Online Prostitution in Bandung

Indonesia shocked by the news of online prostitution. Eventually the police arrested a suspect who allegedly masterminded behind online prostitution in Bandung City.

"In Bandung there were revealed online media is yes, it's to do with the arrest of online sites service manager initials W," said Karopenmas Police, Gen. Pol Joey Boy Amar, at Police Headquarters, Jalan Trunojoyo, Thursday (02/07/2013).

Boy did not elaborate profiles of suspects that police secured. According to him, the police are still conducting an investigation related to disclosure.

"He's done the legal process in West Java Police," he said.

Currently, the W entangled with the violation of article 45, paragraph 1 Uu 11/2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE), Article 34, 35 of Law 44/2008 on Pornography, and Article 378 of the Criminal Code.

"The threat is a maximum of 12 years in prison," he explained.

Police seized a laptop, two HP, and several books of accounts of the hands of the suspects. User accounts suspected to be holding money from the members who transact online prostitution service run W.

Boy admit, it got a problem in monitoring sites that lead to criminal acts or criminal.

"We expect the public to be able to report to us because not all sites monitored by the police, numbering thousands, millions," pleaded Boy.
